1. Bhangarh Fort

Part 1– The first one revolves around the princess of Alwar who was extremely beautiful and known for her irresistible charm. A Tantrik fell in love with her and tried to force the princess to marry him using his black magic power.

He was ordered to kill the princess after his plans were revealed to her. During his last time, he gave a curse to the entire dynasty including the princess. This is just one story.

Part 2- The fort was built at a place which was used to be a meditation spot of Guru Balu Nath. The king requested him to leave the place for the construction of the fort. He accepted the offer in one condition- the shadow of Bhangarh fort should remain untouched from him. The contract got broken once the fort was built and the saint cursed the king and fort.

2. Golconda Fort- Where Ghost Dances At Night

The ghost tale of Golconda will remind you of Bhool Bhulaiya. A woman’s spirit dances every night in the corridors of the fort and several visitors claim that have seen her for real. They have also heard strange voices coming from this deserted fort of Golconda. A few people claim that they have seen bodies hanging at the ceilings and walls of the fort.

3. Feroz Shah Kotla

Visiting alone at the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort is very dangerous especially for women and kids. Ghost with no proper shape roams across this 14th-century fort. These ghosts are usually Jinns. Locals and visitors offer food and grains to these Jinns hoping they will hear their prayers.

4. Shanivarwada fort

Shanivarwada is one of the most haunted forts in India as here lives the ghost of the fifth ruler Narayan Rao. He was betrayed by his uncle Raghunathrao who later imprison Rao and killed him to gain power.

The dead ruler is buried inside the fort and his soul still screams for help. Years later, the fort was burned and several people died. Those who lost their lives also scream at night which are often heard by the visitors,

5. Mehrangarh Fort

Mehrangarh FortMehrangarh might be the haunted fort on our list but it is the most beautiful one. It is standing on the sacrifice of Rajiya Bambi. He was burned alive to save the fort and the king’s family from the curse of a hermit named Cheeria Nathji.

The fort was built on Cheeria’s place made him curse the area saying it would always suffer from water scarcity. His curse is still effective and the area receives draught every 3-4 years.
