Social media websites have always been prone to data breach threats; this time, Twitter is suspected of getting trapped for the cause. The hacker has claimed to have occupied 400 million Twitter users’ data which makes it quite a substantial sum of data. The hacker has threatened to leak the data by selling it.

Data for 400 million Twitter users data are leaked for the sale. The data was most likely obtained through an API vulnerability, according to Alon Gal, co-Founder of Israeli cybercrime intelligence firm Hudson Rock. Email addresses and phone numbers are included.

Twitter Users’ Data: Famous Celebrities and Politicians

Sundar Pichai, Salman Khan, Steve Wozniak, US politician AOC, Kevin O’Leary, and Donald Trump Jr. are among those whose personal information was compromised under Twitter users’ data breach. The list also includes data from the accounts of Shark Tank hosts Mark Cuban and Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin. The data from these accounts may leak sensitive information causing serious tensions worldwide.

Twitter may have less users than other social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram who have billions of followers but the users on Twitter include the most renowned people across the planet. Most of these users are the representative from the biggest firms and politicians. If any sensitive Twitter users’ data is leaked from these accounts then the tensions might create a situation of chaos.

Around 7.2% internet users interact on Twitter at least once in a month. Moreover, Twitter holds the most loyal audience and has a much better regular users-total users ratio compared to other social media platforms.

The hacker has warned Elon Musk to buy all the breached data from them or otherwise face allegations from GDPR and get a fine of about $276 million. Facebook faced a similar allegation from GDPR when they where suspected of data breach from 533 million Facebook users.
