On Thursday, Twitter suspended dozen of accounts that were using publicly available information to track the location of private jets which also included the planes used by the owners.
Now, Elon Musk suspends Mastodon’s account after it reveals information about his jet. The account @JoinMastodon shows the message that the account has been suspended for violating Twitter’s rules.

What is Mastodon?
Mastodon is a free social media service of Twitter, a fair competitor which has certain uniqueness as it is not a single social media website. Rather it is a network made up of thousands of websites connected to each other.
It was launched in 2016 and was quite in the news after the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk.

Additionally, Mastodon does not feature ads and posts are also ordered chronologically instead of an algorithm making it more distinctive than Twitter.
Interestingly, both the social media platforms share similarities which boosted the popularity of Mastodon as Twitter goes into complete chaos after the “historic” ownership change.
Initially, the reason for the suspension was not clear. Later twitter clarified that it was as per the new policy.
According to the archives, just prior to the suspension of Mastodon (@joinmastodon) tweeted a link to the jet tracking account on its own service.
After Twitter was taken over by Elon Musk, Twitter has certainly maintained its controversial status in the news.
