Why Is Apple Cutting Down iPhone 13 Production Within A Month Of Launch

If you are planning to buy a new iPhone 13, we have bad news for you as the company is likely to discontinue its production. A recent report of Bloomberg disclosed that Apple is in big trouble and may fail to serve its customer with demand for iPhone 13 and its models.

The company earlier decided to release 90 million units of iPhone 13 and its pro versions within 3 months for its users but fails to manufacture even 10 million new phones.

According to the report, the company’s two main manufacturing partners are running short in delivering the important components for iPhone 13 models. Apple relies on Broadcom Inc. for all wireless components whereas Texas Instruments Inc. serves display chip parts to the company.

Both companies do not have huge in-house factories so they rely on contract chipmakers. So the indirect impact of the component crisis at small companies has hit the bigger ones too. Manufacturers had already warned about this situation and said the demand for parts will outgrow supply within a year.

Apple being a powerful buyer in the market managed to get all the essential components till now. But water has crossed the mark now and even the power of money cannot solve the issue.

As a result, the new iPhone 13 was unavailable for buyers since September when the company had launched the product. This isn’t it as the energy crisis in China will further add up to the issue.

To help smartphone manufacturing companies come out of the trouble, the US Department of Commerce has proposed a $52 billion plan. Japan is the first to show interest and promises to establish a chip production base. Even though it may solve the issue, buyers still have to wait for an indefinite period.
