In the video posted, a customer named Simranpal Singh can be seen receiving a package from the delivery boy that left him shocked. He got two soaps instead of an iPhone 12 for which he had paid a lump sum amount of Rs 53,000.

Even though the product was on offer it cost him a lot. Luckily, he opted for open-box delivery that saved him from the fraud but it did not end here.

The delivery boy kept asking for the OTP to ensure successful delivery. He denied sending OTP as he did not get the right product. Moreover, he paid a huge amount fearing which he did not act in haste.

He asked him to call his seniors to know why they need his number failing of which delivery man returned. Meanwhile, Singh talked to the customer support of Flipkart to get a refund for failed delivery and was informed about the incident.

Officials told Singh that there’s no detail required from the customer’s end to confirm it as the necessary information is acquired during the ordering process. In addition, they asked him not to share any information and wait for 24 hours to cancel the order.

The order was canceled the next day and Simranpal got all his money back within 4-5 days. Had Singh shared his number or OTP, all chances of getting back his money would have been lost. He narrated the entire situation on his blog at GoAndroid.

Beware of such frauds and always opt for Open Box delivery whenever buying expensive stuff online.
