WhatsApp brings ability to share voice notes via status updates for these users

A new feature has been released by the meta-owned instant messaging app that enables some users to post voice notes as their statuses. According to WaBetaInfo, a platform that tracks WhatsApp features, this functionality is currently available with the newest WhatsApp beta version 2.23.2.8 for Android, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

WhatsApp is now allowing Android beta testers to share voice notes as status updates. The feature can be accessed from the text status section and users will have the option to discard their recordings before sharing them.

Voice notes posted as status updates will be encrypted and will be available for 24 hours only. Recordings can be up to 30 seconds in length and users will have the option to delete them for everyone after they have been shared. This is similar to the way images and videos work on the platform.

The latest beta version of WhatsApp, available for download on the Google Play Store, now offers this feature to its users. WaBetaInfo reported that the feature will be released to even more users in the upcoming weeks.

WhatsApp has revealed that its new “Forward Media with Caption” feature is now available for Android users.

This feature enables the users to add captions to the media files and make them easier to find by searching for the relevant keywords. When a user forwards a media with caption, a view will appear at the bottom of the screen to confirm that the feature is enabled. Additionally, there is a dismiss button to delete the caption from the image, if the user decides not to send it.
