This feature allows users to add captions to their media files, making it easier to search and find old files by searching keywords from the caption. When forwarding a media with a caption, a new view will appear at the bottom of the screen, indicating whether the feature is enabled or not. Additionally, it comes with a dismiss button, enabling the user to delete the caption from the image prior to forwarding it, should they choose not to.

WhatsApp is reportedly developing a ‘saved message’ feature, as suggested by WaBetaInfo. This feature would give users the option to temporarily preserve a message that is intended to self-destruct after a certain time period, as decided by the sender. Disappearing messages were first rolled out by the company in August 2021.

WaBetaInfo reports that the platform has introduced the ‘kept message’ feature, allowing users to have greater control over disappearing messages. With this feature, messages will no longer be automatically deleted from the chat, visible to all conversation participants. However, users have the option to “un-keep” the message and have it removed from the chat permanently.

The “Kept message” feature is still in development and is planned to be released in a future update. This feature will allow users to easily recognize preserved messages from regular disappearing messages in the chat. It is important to note that all participants in the conversation can delete these messages at any time.
