Google Pixel Watch Gets Big Update : All Details

Google is sending out its second over-the-air (OTA) update to Pixel Watches running Google Watch OS 3.5. This OTA update labelled RWD 9.220429.073 can be accessed through the Settings app on the watch. While no major changes are included, there are fixes and improvements, as well as the January 2023 Android security patch.

Google has announced in a blog post that owners of their Pixel Watch running Wear OS 3.5 will be notified of the most recent OTA update. This update does not contain any big changes, however some previously reported bugs have been fixed and the Watch OS 3.5 has been updated to the January 2023 Android security patch. Additionally, the version for Japan and Taiwan is called RWD 9.220429.073.J1.

In its blog post announcing the release, Google mentioned a primary bug fix which resolved an issue where watch faces from external sources would switch off after 15 minutes when the always on display (AOD) was enabled.

Google, however, has not yet declared a formal rollout of the feature. The organisation had initially launched the Google Pixel Watch in October 2020 and it is outfitted with a 1.2-inch AMOLED show, an Exynos 9110 SoC, a Cortex M33 coprocessor, and 2GB RAM.

 A few clients of the Pixel Watch have seen the fall recognition element on the watch after the December update.

In December 2022, Google presented its initial OTA update for the Google Pixel Watch, and the most recent update in January 2023 comes as the second update made accessible to clients of the Google Pixel Watch.
