It’s time to say goodbye to the days of anyone being able to join a WhatsApp group simply by having a link. WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for group admins that will let them approve new participants before they join the group.

The feature, which is currently being rolled out on the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS devices, is a great way for group admins to manage and control who joins the group. With this feature turned on, users will get a message in the group chat suggesting that new participants will need an approval from the admin before they can join the group even if they have the invite link.

How to access the feature
To find the new setting, open the group settings and you will find an option called ‘Approve New Participants’. Once you turn it on, the members will have to wait for the admin to approve their request before joining the group.
