WhatsApp, Meta’s instant messenger app is working on a new feature that will allow users to silence calls from unknown numbers. The function, which would help customers avoid the irritation of getting unwanted calls from unknown people, is currently under development on WhatsApp beta for Android and likely to be released within the next few months.

According to WABetaInfo (a website that tracks WhatsApp reports)

“WhatsApp is developing a new feature that allows users to silence calls from unknown numbers while still showing them in the calls list and notification center, for a future update of the app,”

According to the report, Calls from unknown numbers will automatically be muted after enabling this feature which will be in the app settings, but calls will still show up in the call list and notification center.

This feature will help you from the growing problem of getting spam calls. Currently, have the option to block and report spam callers.

Users can now view and operate 2 different areas of the interface simultaneously, side by side, in the application’s beta version of Android.

When using the tablet version of the app to access a chat, the chat view typically takes up the entire screen. In order to read another conversation, users have to return to the chat list.

A recent update makes it easier to use navigation by keeping the chat list always visible when a chat is opened.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is currently working on a new look for its iOS attachment menu that is expected to be unveiled in a future update. The new menu will be similar to WhatsApp for Android, giving users a similar user interface across all platforms.
