Supreme Court of US Extend the Appeal of Title – 42 Hearing

US Supreme Court in its recent decision keep Title -42 restriction in its place and will listen to the Republican-led states appeal about imposing Title -42 next year in February.

US Supreme Court voted 5-4 to extend the temporary stay.

It reverses the lower court decision that states to end the Title -42 policy in December, it means that the policy will remain in effect until a final ruling in February.

But Supreme Court clarify that Biden administration still has the power to discontinue the policy on its own.

Title 42 will expel more than 2 million migrants from the US.

Supreme Court judges supported the Republican-led states appeal to continue the Trump-era immigration policy known as Title-42.

But judges include Justices Neil Gorsuch and Ketanji Brown Jackson “the current border crisis is not a Covid crisis,” We are a court of law, not policymakers of last resort.”

Additionally, Justices Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor voted to deny the stay.

Although the Biden administration is not happy with the stay, they are actually approaching towards more human approach but right now they are waiting for the court rulings in February.
