According to Uorfi, Uorfi Javed was returning home after visiting a friend when one of her friend’s acquaintances offered to drop her off. As they were walking, an auto-rickshaw passed by and a man sitting in the back reportedly in an intoxicated state suddenly reached out and started touching her cheek  .

Uorfi described how the man not only touched her but also made inappropriate comments and began circling her in a threatening manner. The person Uorfi Javed was with fled the scene, leaving her alone with the assailant. Realising the danger, Uorfi Javed tried to alert bystanders. “He was very drunk and then he started acting aggressively,” Uorfi said, detailing how Uorfi Javed had to scream for help and even take off her slipper to scare him off. Thankfully, a few passersby responded to her cries, and Uorfi Javed managed to escape without physical injury.
