All the wine shops were closed across the country due to Coronavirus lockdown. But when lockdown 3.0 started, Delhi government allowed wine shops to open again. This permission was just like a blessing for alcoholics. But on the first day, the Delhi government decided to impose a 70% ‘Coronavirus Tax‘ on the sale of Alcohols. The government announced that it would cost more on liquor from Tuesday.

The source said,
“A 70% ‘Special Corona Fee’ has been imposed on the MRP (maximum retail price) of liquor bottles. The new rate will be applicable from Tuesday.”
It means that a liquor bottle of Rs 1,000 earlier will now cost Rs 1,700 in the city in Delhi.
