India Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025 has started today (January 17). For the first time, 34 automobile companies are participating in it. This is the highest number since the first edition of the Auto Expo held in 1986. The official name of this expo is ‘The Motor Show’. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), many big brands including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mercedes, BMW, BYD will showcase their new models at Auto Expo 2025. This is the second edition of India Mobility and the 17th edition of the Auto Expo 2025 Motor Show, which will run till January 22.
Solar car EVA and flying taxis will also be introduced
This time the companies are focusing on introducing electric vehicles in the event. Maruti Suzuki’s e-Vitara, Hyundai Creta EV, MG’s Cybster and M9, Kia’s EV 6 facelift and Siros, Skoda’s Enyaq and Elroc, Tata Motors’ Harrier EV and Sierra EV will be introduced.
Apart from this, India’s first solar car Eva and Sarla Aviation’s flying taxi will also be introduced. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event. More than 5 lakh people are expected to attend it.
Brands participating in India Mobility Auto Expo 2025 show
Talking about the manufacturers participating in the Auto Expo 2025, these will include Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, Hyundai Motor India, Kia India and Skoda Auto, global luxury brands like Volkswagen India, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche India and BYD.
The two-wheeler section will see participation from market leader brands such as TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Suzuki Motorcycle and Yamaha India.
At the same time, the commercial section will include names like Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles, Ashok Leyland, JBM and Cummins India. Apart from this, electric vehicle manufacturers like Ather Energy, Ola Electric, TI Clean Mobility, Eka Mobility and Vietnam-based Vinfast will also showcase their models and technology.
These Cars Will be Launched at The Auto Expo 2025
Hyundai Creta Electric
Hyundai will launch the electric version of its best-selling SUV Creta. Hyundai has made many changes in the design of Creta EV to give it a new identity. Features like dual 10.25-inch dual digital display, ventilated front seat, panoramic sunroof and level-2 ADAS will be available in the cabin.
The Creta EV will be offered in two battery pack options: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The smaller battery pack version will offer a range of 390km with a 135ps electric motor, while the larger battery pack version will offer a range of 473km (ARAI) with a 171ps electric motor.
Maruti E Vitara
The production version of the E Vitara will be launched. Its concept version was showcased at the 2023 Expo. The company has currently shown only a glimpse of the E Vitara. The front look of the EV will be very similar to the international version.
Many advanced features will be provided in Maruti E-Vitara. Its global model has two battery pack options: 49kwh and 61kwh. It is expected that the same battery pack options can be available in its Indian version as well.
Tata Harrier EV
The concept version of the Tata Harrier EV was first showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and then its updated version was introduced during an event in 2024. It is expected that the company can now showcase its production model, which has been seen several times during testing.
The cabin of the Harrier EV can have many similarities with the regular model. This upcoming car can be given a dual motor setup to support the all-wheel drivetrain. The range of the Harrier EV can be more than 500km. The Harrier EV will be given a better multilink rear suspension as compared to the torsion bar found in the regular model.
MG Cyberster
MG Cyberster will be the company’s first full electric convertible car, which will have scissor doors and 20-inch alloy wheels. Cyberster will have a triple-screen setup and a Bose 8-speaker sound system. The Indian version of Cyberster will be equipped with a dual motor with 510ps of power and 725Nm of torque with a 77kWh battery pack. The company claims that the car will give a range of more than 444km.
tata sierra
The concept version of the Tata Sierra EV was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 and then its concept version was showcased in a production-ready design at the 2023 Expo. Now its production version can be introduced at the 2025 Auto Expo.
The Sierra EV can be given a 60 to 80kWh battery pack, through which this vehicle can cover a range of more than 500 km. Apart from the Sierra EV, the company can also showcase the Sierra ICE model, whose concept and production model are yet to be revealed.
Skoda Kodiaq
Skoda will showcase its new generation Kodiaq at the India Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025. This vehicle has been seen several times during testing. The new Kodiaq can be launched at the end of the year. The exterior design of this car will be completely new and it will also have a new cabin.
The international model of Kodiaq has been given many powertrain options. It is expected that the 2-litre turbo petrol engine of the current model can be given in the Kodiaq coming to India.
