Sonali was asked how she dealt with the news that she had cancer and what her first reaction was. She said, “When I accepted my malignant growth determination, my most memorable idea was, ‘The reason me?’ I’d wake up and think it was all a dream; I could not comprehend how this could occur to me.

I began to alter my thinking at that point. In place of “why me?” I began asking, ‘Why not me?’ I began to feel thankful that neither my sister nor my son were affected by this. I understood I had the solidarity to manage this, I had the assets to go to the best clinics, and the emotionally supportive network to help me through this. Beginning to wonder, “Why not me?” helped me get started on my road to recovery.

About Sonali Bendre’s Cancer Journey

In 2018, Sonali was told that she had metastatic cancer in stage four. In 2021, she was declared cancer-free following treatment at a hospital in New York City. Post her recuperation, she has been pushing mindfulness and backing for malignant growth survivors. The entertainer likewise wrote an Instagram post on Disease Survivors Day in 2021. She wrote, “How time flies… today when I look back, I see strength, I see weakness, but most importantly, I see the will to not let the C word define how my life will be after it…You create the life you choose.”

Sonali Bendre will next be found in The Let it be known 2, co-featuring Shriya Pilgaonkar and Jaideep Ahlawat in critical jobs. The series begins spilling on ZEE5 from May 3.
