Sharjeel Imam Tests Covid Positive, Delhi Police Extends His Transfer

Sharjeel Imam who was is currently lodged Guwahati’s central jail has tested positive for coronavirus.

Sharjeel Imam a PhD student at the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU) Centre for Historical Studies and has been accused of making inflammatory speeches which led to violence outside Jamia Milia Islamia University in December last year. He has been booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Delhi Police has now decided to delay the transfer of Imam till his disease gets cured. Along with Sharjeel, the police team was also screened for coronavirus but the police team came negative.
