First of all! We need to discuss how it all started. A few months ago, when the media asked Rashmika “Did she like Kantara”, she replied with a snarky smile “I haven’t watched Kantara.”
Thereafter, in an interview with Curly Tales, the actress talked about her journey from a side actress to one of India’s most popular actresses.

But she never mentioned the Kannada industry or Rishabh Shetty who gave her first break. Besides this, she addressed her first industry as “some production house” with air-quoted actions.
Then, social media got flooded with hatred toward Rashmika for not supporting the industry where she belongs.
Later, Rishabh Shetty also selected Samantha and Sai Pallavi over Rashmika Mandana in an interview. He also air-quoted and said, “I don’t like such an actress.”

What Rashmika Mandana said about this controversy?
Recently, Rashmika interacted with the media at an event. When the reporters asked her about the controversy with Rishabh Shetty, she said “they have asked me if I watched Kantara just after its release.”
“I couldn’t watch the film back then, but I did later. I also sent an appreciation message to the team and they have also thanked me.”
Rashmika also cleared that she is not banned from the Kannada industry. She said “people only believe what they saw on social media, they don’t know what is happening inside. We can’t always take cameras with us and show them.”
