Ram Mandir: Ahead of the consecration ceremony at the Ayodhya Temple, the idol of Lord Ram, known as Ram Lalla, was unveiled, showcasing a five-year-old depiction of Lord Ram in a standing posture holding a golden bow and arrow. The 51-inch idol, sculpted by Mysuru-based artist Arun Yogiraj, is crafted from black stone.

  • The idol, representing Lord Ram as a child, was revealed as part of the preparations for the grand ceremony on January 22.
  • The unveiling process spanned two days, with initial photos released on Thursday, followed by an image revealing only the idol’s eyes earlier today.
  • The complete look, featuring the deity’s face along with the golden bow and arrow, was finally presented in the afternoon.

Ceremonial Details:

  • The consecration ceremony will witness the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and other distinguished guests.
  • The rituals for the Ram Mandir consecration commenced on January 12, leading up to the main ceremony on January 22.
  • PM Modi is scheduled to perform the “Pran Pratistha” puja during the event, with a team of priests, led by Lakshmikant Dixit, overseeing the main rituals.

Ram Mandir Guest List:

  • The guest list for the inauguration ceremony boasts prominent names, including billionaire Mukesh Ambani, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, and actor Akshay Kumar, M.S Dhoni, Virat Kohli among others.
  • The ceremony is expected to draw 8,000 attendees.

Preparations and Arrangements

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak assured that all arrangements, including infrastructure, medical facilities, and medicines, have been made for the grand ceremony.

Holiday Declaration

In anticipation of the event, government offices, boards, and corporations in several states have declared a half-day or holiday on January 22.
