Actor Rahul Roy began his career in the Hindi film industry by delivering a hit. He starred in Mahesh Bhatt’s musical romantic drama Aashiqui and became an overnight star. However, despite signing 47 films immediately after the film’s success, Rahul couldn’t register another hit to his name.
The only film of the actor that worked beside Aashiqui was the 1992 fantasy horror-drama Junoon.
Rahul Roy Uncovered What Turned Bad After Aashiqui
Rahul Roy, in a new interview with Siddharth Kanan, uncovered what turned out badly for him after Aashiqui. He stated that he was willing to “give everything” to his projects, but the filmmakers “duped” him. He said when he was offered the job he was guaranteed something different and when he began going for it, things changed.

The actor said, “Jo kaam merko dena tha, unn logon ne sab le liya (whatever they wanted of me, they took everything), but they didn’t give what I was looking for.” Roy’s soul sister Priyanka Roy added, “He signed many films back to back (after Aashiqui). He got very busy. The kind of projects he wanted, those were not made, the outcome was different.”

After Aashiqui, Roy featured in films like Pyaar Ka Saaya, Dilwale Kabhi Na Bunny, Jaanam, Gumrah, and Majhdhaar among others. The actor shared that people told him while offering him movies: These are incredible jobs, you will be known for them”. However, “When I began going for them, I understood everything they said to me is altogether different based on what’s going on.

However, now, three years after suffering a brain stroke, Rahul Roy is looking for work. Through the interview, he urged filmmakers, “I am Rahul Roy and I think I should do some more work. I urge you to give me work and I will be grateful to you. I will definitely do great work for you guys.”
