ChatGPT: The US investigative agency Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has started its investigation on OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT. The FTC has written a letter asking OpenAI several questions regarding the privacy and data security of AI technology products users. Company’s founder Sam Altman has also tweeted expressing his displeasure regarding this investigation.

ChatGPT of artificial intelligence company OpenAI has been accused of putting users at risk by providing false information. The American Investigation Agency has started its investigation regarding this. The company is quite popular for its chatbot.

In a letter written to OpenAI, the investigating agency Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has sought detailed information on AI technology, products, users’ privacy security and data security.

ChatGPT on target of FTC

The FTC has currently not shared any details regarding the ongoing investigation on OpenAI. However, reports are claiming that the FTC is investigating whether OpenAI is adopting unfair practices regarding users’ privacy or data security. Along with this, it is also checking that the company is not adopting misleading or harmful methods to its users.

Altman expressed his displeasure by tweeting

Sam Altman, the founder of OpenAI, expressed his disappointment in a tweet about this investigation, saying that this investigation will not help in building trust. But, he will fully cooperate with his own FTC in this.

Altman says in his tweet that it is important for us that technology is safe for users. We follow the law, we care about users’ privacy. Our system is not for the personal information of an individual but for information about the world.

Sam Altman has also appeared before the US Parliament earlier. Along with this, he has also advocated the regulation on AI during his visit to Europe and India. In fact, due to the increasing use of AI in the last few years, there is a continuous discussion about its possible dangers.
