Chief of Petroleum Dealers Association, M.P, Ajay Singh said that 2 out of 3 fuel providers have reduced the supply. Hindustan and Bharat Petroleum are those whereas Indian Oil is working normally.

Furthermore, the time duration of supply is also reduced which has further troubled dealers in getting enough fuel. The effect is seen in multiple states like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat as well.

In Madhya Pradesh, supply is cut short by 30 percent in capital city Bhopal as per the reports. A daily loss of Rs 28/litre is incurred by the owners and fuel delivery is also getting delayed.

If petrol-diesel crisis continues, the pumps will dry out within 2 days or less said Singh. This problem is persisting since a week and is getting worse day by day.

On the other hand, situations in other areas of country are also same over which Indian Oil has issued a clarification. Retail and marketing director V Satish Kumar has said that fuel supply is absolutely normal in the market.

Combing back to MP, the state gets fuel from 3 main dealers- Indian Oil, Hindustan and Bharat Petroluem. There are around 4900 petrol pumps in the state out of which Bhopal has only 152. Around 9lakhs litre petrol and 12 lakhs diesel is consumed daily in these pumps.

News of petrol-diesel shortage has thus panicked the common man as it directly indicates the further increase in price if situation doesn’t get in control. Amid the crisis, former CM of Madhya Pradesh Kamalnath has raised fingers on current government. Here’s his tweet:

Petroleum dealers association has written a letter to the state government to look into the matter. They have mentioned all the problems they are facing and cited that companies are not giving proper supply due to major loss.
