Microsoft Phone Link For iOS On Windows 11 Rolls Out Globally

Microsoft

Microsoft has announced that all Windows 11 users can now use Phone Link for iOS. This function permits a connection between a Windows 11 PC and an iOS mobile device, and it was first introduced with the Windows 11 February update.

Phone Link now available on Windows 11 PC and iOS mobile devices

Microsoft has expanded its Phone Link function, which was previously exclusively accessible to Android users, to iOS mobile devices. Users of Windows 11 PCs may now directly access everything on their phone from their PC thanks to this capability.

Users of Windows 11 won’t ever miss an essential call or text while concentrating on their PC thanks to Phone Link for iOS.

The function provides the bare minimum of iOS functionality for calls, messages, and contact access. Users can decide what to do after receiving notifications on their PC.

Users may also use the images app on their Windows 11 PC to retrieve their iPhone images thanks to iCloud connectivity.

Let’s Get Started

On Windows 11 PCs, Microsoft has offered instructions on how to start using the Phone Link function. Users’ PCs will start to get the feature in the upcoming weeks.

They can look for “Phone Link” using the search box on the Windows taskbar to see if it is enabled or to begin utilizing it. After that, a step-by-step installation guide will be provided to assist with setup.

On Windows 11, the Phone Link feature for iOS has begun to roll out globally. A Windows 11 device, an iPhone running iOS 14 or later, a Bluetooth connection, and the most recent Phone Link software are all requirements for the feature.

However, it isn’t compatible with all devices and isn’t accessible for macOS or the iPad (iPadOS).

Users should be aware that iOS has limitations on the messaging capability, as group messaging and image/video sharing are not supported. As messages are session-based, a phone connected to a PC is also necessary.

“Because we want you to have seamless and high-quality relationships with your loved ones, we cautiously released this update after hearing from our Windows Insiders. They were happy, and by the middle of May, Windows 11 users will start receiving it. Regardless of the phone you choose, we look forward to supporting Phone Link and connecting you to what matters most.”
