Memphis Rapper Big Scarr Dies at 22

Big Scarr, a Memphis rapper who broke onto the scene in 2021 with his debut mixtape “Big Grim Reaper,” died on Thursday. He was 22 years old.

Scarr’s death is confirmed by the executive of his record level, Gucci Mane. He revealed the news through an Instagram post. He wrote “This hurts. I miss you, Big Scarr.”

The cause of death has not been revealed yet, but the assumption says it was due to a drug overdose. Scarr had struggled with addiction in the past and had been to a rehabilitation centre multiple times.

Big Scarr was born in South Memphis on 7th April 2000. His real name is Alexander Woods. But after being involved in a near-fatal automobile crash, he was named Big Scarr.

Scarr was so popular for his debut mixtape “Big Grim Reaper” which was released in 2021. His projects also possess soundtracks like “Poppin” and “SolcyBoyz 2.”

Big Scarr was a member of the rap group Hypnotize Minds, which also included the late Juicy J and Lord Infamous. The group was known for their song “Sippin’ on Some Syrup,” which was remixed by Justin Timberlake.

Before his death, Scarr also collaborated on several tracks with record-level colleagues Foogiano and Pooh Shiesty.

Besides that, the rapper was planning a tour with another Memphis rapper, Key Glock, as per his last Instagram post.
