In a recent social media escapade, the fearless Marnus Labuschagne stirred up some excitement by revealing his daring desire to share the crease with none other than the legendary Indian batsman, Virat Kohli.

  • The Aussie bowler recently faced off against Kohli in both the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and a thrilling three-match ODI series. And if that wasn’t enough to satisfy his thirst for adventure, the spirited cricketer also engaged with his adoring fans in a flurry of question-and-answer action, bravely fielding queries about everything from his on-field prowess to his off-field shenanigans.
  • When a cricket fan asked him which top batsman he’d absolutely love to bat with (because let’s face it, who wouldn’t?), the cheeky chap quickly replied with the name of none other than ex-India captain Virat Kohli. Oh boy, can you imagine the sheer dominance they’d bring to the crease?

Labuschagne boldly declared his love for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, hailing them as his favourite team in the IPL.   • When asked about “Who is moreover difficult to face? Lyon in the nets or Ashwin out there in the middle?” He answered: “It’s always harder in the middle regardless of who’s bowling (can’t get out in the nets).”

Marcus Labuschagne- A Chapter that cannot be Skipped

Labuschagne, a skilled batter, is an established member of the Australian cricket team, representing them in both Tests and ODIs. Hailing from South Africa, he plies his trade domestically for Queensland in the national circuit, for Glamorgan in county cricket and for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.

Marnus Labuschagne made history in August 2019, when he became the first cricket player to serve as a concussion substitute in a Test match. He replaced Steve Smith, which marked a pivotal moment for Labuschagne’s burgeoning career.

In that same year, Labuschagne emerged as the leading run-scorer in Test matches, culminating in his rise to fourth place in the ICC Player Rankings – a remarkable surge of 106 places. Such a performance garnered significant recognition, with Labuschagne receiving three prestigious accolades within months.

In January 2020, he was honoured with the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. In February, he was named Australia’s Test player of the year. Finally, in April, he received one of the highest honours in the sport, being named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year by Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack.

An accomplished player, as of February 2023, Labuschagne is currently the top-ranked batter in the ICC Test batting rankings.

With the excitement of cricket in the air, Labuschagne is all set to show his skills on a global stage at the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India at the Oval, starting on June 7.
