In a recent social media escapade, the fearless Marnus Labuschagne stirred up some excitement by revealing his daring desire to share the crease with none other than the legendary Indian batsman, Virat Kohli.

• The Aussie bowler recently faced off against Kohli in both the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and a thrilling three-match ODI series. Labuschagne boldly declared his love for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, hailing them as his favourite team in the IPL. Labuschagne, a skilled batter, is an established member of the Australian cricket team, representing them in both Tests and ODIs. Hailing from South Africa, he plies his trade domestically for Queensland in the national circuit, for Glamorgan in county cricket and for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League.

Marnus Labuschagne made history in August 2019, when he became the first cricket player to serve as a concussion substitute in a Test match. He replaced Steve Smith, which marked a pivotal moment for Labuschagne’s burgeoning career.

In that same year, Labuschagne emerged as the leading run-scorer in Test matches, culminating in his rise to fourth place in the ICC Player Rankings – a remarkable surge of 106 places. Such a performance garnered significant recognition, with Labuschagne receiving three prestigious accolades within months.

In January 2020, he was honoured with the ICC Men’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year award. In February, he was named Australia’s Test player of the year. Finally, in April, he received one of the highest honours in the sport, being named as one of the five Cricketers of the Year by Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack.
