Live Update : Bomb Found Near Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s House In Chandigarh

Chandigarh: Today, a suspicious object, believed to be a bomb, was found near the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Chandigarh. In response, a bomb disposal team was sent to the location, which is close to the helipad of the Punjab and Haryana Chief Minister’s residence.

The Indian Army’s Western Command has been involved in the investigation of the suspicious object found near Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s residence in Chandigarh.

A bomb disposal squad was immediately dispatched to the spot. The administration also informed the army about the incident.

“We have secured the live shell and the area has been cordoned off,” said Sanjeev Kohli, nodal officer, disaster management, Chandigarh.

Police teams from both Mohali and Chandigarh reached the spot after getting information. A senior police officer said they are investigating the matter.

It may be mentioned that earlier too bombshells were found in the area close to the chief minister’s residence.

A tubewell operator, at around 4 to 4:30 pm spotted the live bombshell in the mango plantation near the helipad and Mann’s residence. However, the Chief Minister was not at his residence when the bomb was recovered.

Calling it a serious matter,”Congress leader Amarinder Singh said, “Live bomb near CM @BhagwantMann ‘s residence needs to be probed from all aspects and dealt with firmly. Those having audacity to keep live bomb so close to Punjab CM’s residence can resort to anything. @INCIndia always believes in Zero Tolerance to terror.”
