Lata Mangeshkar was a true gem that the world will ever have. She was known for her melodious voice. Her contribution to the Indian Bollywood industry will never be forgotten. She had such a sweet voice that she gained some of the most peculiar titles like:

  • Queen of Melody
  • Nightingale of India
  • Voice of the Millennium

On the occasion of Lata Mangeshkar’s death anniversary, International Sand Artist and Padma Shri Awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik. The sand artist paid tribute to Lataji by creating sand art with the message “Meri Awaaz Hi Pehechan Hai” at Puri beach in Odisha.

Lata Mangeshkar Age 

Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore, Indore State during the British India period. She was a playback singer, composer, and film producer throughout her career.

Lata Mangeshkar Husband and Personal Life

Unfortunately, Lataji never married due to unknown reasons. Moreover, Lata’s parents names her Hema after her birth and they later renamed her Lata after a female character, Latika, in one of her father’s plays.

Lata Mangeshkar Songs 

Lata was very versatile as she knew multiple languages. She recorded songs in over thirty-six languages and a few non-native languages. Mangeshkar’s songs were primarily in Marathi, Hindi, and Bengali.

One of Lataji’s most famous song “Gaata rahe mera dil” was widely shared on the social media platforms.

Lata Mangeshkar Death

Lata Mangeshkar got infected with Covid-19 on 8 January 2022 with mild symptoms. She was admitted to the hospital just a few days after getting discharged. Later, Lataji died from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome on 6 February 2022. She left us at the age of 92 after undergoing 28 days of constant treatment for pneumonia and Covid-19.
