Hindu Religious Leader Kalicharan Maharaj was arrested by the Chattishgarh police on Thursday. He was seized for insulting Mahatma Gandhi and praising his assassin Nathuram Godse in his hate speech at a Hindutva event held in Raipur. The Police took him from his rented house in Khujraho town, Madhya Pradesh.

Kalicharan Maharaj is a Hindu religious leader from Shivaji Nagar, Akola, Maharashtra. He is well known for his spiritual speeches on God. Kalicharan Maharaj’s real name is Abhijit Dhananjay Sarag. His exact date of birth is not confirmed but according to the reports, he was born in 1973. His father runs a medical shop in the old city of Akola. He studied at a private school in Maharastra, but he quit after the 8th standard.
Afterwards, he started going to Bhayyuji Maharaj’s ashram and learnt to speak Hindi. Slowly he started taking interest in spirituality and took Guru Diksha from Bhaiyyuji Maharaj. After that, he started to be known as Kalicharan Maharaj.

Kalicharan Maharaaj became went viral on social media for his video of singing Shiv Tandav in 2020. The video was shooted in Bhojeshwar Shiv Temple of Madhya Pradesh.
