Rajya Sabha and Kerela Congress Chairman Jose K Mani’s 19-year-old son Mani Jr. was arrested after being accused of killing two brothers in a car accident. The accused was released on bail after getting arrested on April 9.
Jose K Mani’s Son Accident Case
The incident on the late night of April 08 when Rajya Sabha MP Jose K Mani’s 19-year-old son was driving an SUV (Innova). The adolescent was driving a hard-to-manage car and he lost his balance after which the car rotated a few times.
While the car lost its balance on road it slammed a scooter coming from the opposing direction. The scooter carried two brothers, Matthew John, and Jins John that were returning after shopping for the Easter celebration.
According to the eyewitnesses, Jose K Mani’s son’s accident happened after he was speeding and lost control after which the scooter collided with its back. However, the complete story of the incident is based on the viewer’s point of view and the full story will only be revealed after checking the nearest CCTV footage that might have captured the incident.
Police Delayed the Arrest
Police tried to delay the arrest of Mani Jr. as he is the son of Kerela MP. The accident happened on 8th April and the accused was arrested the next day. Police informed that the accused was present on sight during the accident instead of running away so they didn’t arrest him on the spot.
Another reason the police mentioned was that they are still investigating on the matter and looking for the exact reason for the accident. However, the accused was later arrested under the IPC section 304 A for causing death by negligence.
The accused Mani Jr was released on bail on Sunday itself. Meanwhile, the Kottayam superintendent said that the investigation is still under process.
