The country’s largest telecom company Jio has created history by providing a 4G/5G network in Siachen Glacier. Jio has become the first telecom operator to provide high-speed mobile network in the world’s highest and most difficult battlefield. Reliance Jio has set up a 5G base station in Siachen Glacier in collaboration with the Indian Army. Before Army Day on January 15, Jio has given a new gift to the army soldiers by providing 4G and 5G networks.
The first company to deliver 5G in Siachen
Jio has done wonders by providing mobile connectivity in this harsh and inaccessible area with the help of army signallers. Jio has successfully deployed a plug-and-play pre-configured device at a forward post on the Siachen Glacier using completely indigenous 5G technology.For this, the telecom operator has worked in collaboration with Army signallers to conduct several training sessions, system pre-configuration and extensive testing, after which this has become possible.
The Indian Army played a key role in managing the logistics, including delivering Jio’s devices to the Siachen Glacier. This partnership ensured connectivity at an altitude of 16,000 feet in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas. This is an area,Where the temperature drops to -50 degrees Celsius. This initiative of Jio will solve the communication problem of the country’s armed forces in protecting India’s borders in the most difficult conditions.
The first 5G mobile tower installed
The Indian Army’s ‘Fire and Fury Corps’ gave this information through a tweet. According to the army, Jio Telecom and the Indian Army together have successfully installed the first 5G mobile tower on the world’s highest battlefield, Siachen Glacier.It has been installed at a post in Siachen. The temperature here falls to -50°C.
Jio used its indigenous full-stack 5G technology. The Fire and Fury Signalers and Siachen Warriors along with the Jio team installed the 5G tower in the Northern Glacier.
