Jawa 42 FJ: Indian motorcycle brand Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has launched a new variant of its popular 42 model, the Jawa 42 FJ. This latest model has a more aggressive design than the standard 42, with a different tear-drop fuel tank adorned with bold ‘Jawa’ branding.
New Jawa 42 FJ: Design
The Jawa 42 has been given a modern retro theme. It has a tear drop shaped fuel tank with an aluminum plate on the side. Its side panel is similar to the other Jawa 42. Its fenders are very neatly styled. In which the Jawa tail light comes out of the rear fender. It has a new single-piece T and single-piece handlebar. The bike has diamond-cut alloy wheels. It also has split grab rails and upswept twin exhausts in bits. It has been launched in five color options.
New Jawa 42 FJ: Features
The Jawa 42 FJ has multi-spoke alloy wheels, blacked-out engine and upswept exhaust pipe to add a sporty touch to the bike. Its base model has wire-spoke wheels. The bike has features like all-LED lights, digital instrument cluster (with Bluetooth connectivity), offset speedometer, assist and slipper clutch. Apart from this, the bike also has a USB charging port and single-pod.
New Jawa 42 FJ: Brakes
The bike uses a steel chassis. It is suspended through 41mm telescopic forks and twin shock absorbers. For braking, the bike has a 320mm disc brake at the front and a disc brake at the rear. It is equipped with dual-channel ABS as standard.
New Jawa 42 FJ: Engine
The new Jawa 42FJ is powered by a 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that also powers the Jawa 350. This engine produces 29bhp and 29.6Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch
Price and competition
The Jawa 42 is priced between Rs 1.99 lakh and Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with models such as the Royal Enfield Classic 350, TVS Ronin and Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Bookings for the Jawa 42 FJ have begun and deliveries will begin soon.
