BCCI will Ban Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

IPL 2023 Update: BCCI will ban Sri Lanka and Bangladesh cricket players for their negligence towards attending IPL 2023. Three players from Sri Lanka and four players from Bangladesh will not be attending all the matches of IPL 2023 for their franchises.

IPL 2023 is about to begin on 31 March and it seems that players from some countries are not serious about the rules and regulations. This is the first time that several players have denied attending all the matches of an IPL session. BCCI will ban Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from participating in further auctions of IPL.

Meanwhile, three Bangladesh players Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim will only be available from April 9 to May 5 and then after May 15 onwards. BCB President Nazmul Hassan Papon also stated that the Bangladesh players will only be able to partially attend the IPL 2023 as they will serve national duties in between.

SCL officials further informed that the BCCI didn’t express any sort of displeasure regarding the unavailability of the players. However, BCCI has indirectly warned other Cricket Boards by saying:

Franchises would be skeptical about picking players from certain countries if they are here to play the tournament partly” in one of their statements“.
