Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s top automobile manufacturers, has unveiled the new ‘Thar Earth’ edition of its famous SUV, Mahindra Thar in the Indian market. While customers are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the five-door version of the Thar (Thar 5 Door), the company has first launched the Thar Earth Edition in its existing three-door variant, priced between Rs 15.4 lakh to Rs 17.6 lakh. - The Mahindra Thar Earth Edition is based on the ‘LX’ variant but comes at a premium of around Rs 40,000.
- Limited to the 4×4 model, the Earth Edition retains the same mechanical specifications as its predecessor but features notable cosmetic enhancements.

- Talking about power and performance, no changes have been made in its engine mechanism. Mahindra Thar Earth is available only in a 4×4 variant, with both petrol and diesel engine options.
- Its 2.0-litre petrol unit generates 152hp power and 300Nm torque. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox.
- Whereas the diesel variant has a 2.2-litre diesel engine which generates power of 132hp and torque of 300Nm.
- It also has the option of a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox.
- This special edition Thar also gets a number of accessories including customized front and rear armrests, 7D floor mats, and a comfort kit.
