Young people aged between 15-24 contribute to 65.1 percent of the global population which clearly indicates that youths are the future of the world. But more than 42% of them lack either resources, knowledge, or face social, legal, and cultural issues that block their growth. International Youth Day addresses these issues and gives them a platform by organizing workshops, events, and campaigns across the world.

What Is International Youth Day And Its Significance?

International Day of Youth is celebrated to raise awareness about their capacity, importance, and boost their voices and recognize their initiatives and actions to make the world a better place.

World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth had first suggested the idea to UNGA. UN marked 12th August as an International Day of Youth in 1999 on their recommendation.
