Ayesha Aziz- A 25-year-old woman who made inspirational news all over the country on 5th February by becoming the youngest female pilot from Kashmir. She even became our nation’s youngest pilot when she achieved the student license at the age of 15. She is evolving as a motivator for all those females especially Kashmiri females who aspire to fly like her. But who is she actually? What is her journey all about? Ayesha was born in a simple family in Kashmir but brought up in Mumbai. She was inclined towards flying since childhood and once said that her liking for planes and airports became stronger during her frequent traveling to Kashmir as it was her native place and her maternal roots are also there.
She attributed her reason for success to her parents as to when she told them that she wanted to be a pilot, her father propelled her into this field after Class 10th. And then as all of us are aware she came with the flying colours by attaining youngest student pilot license in the year 2011 and undergone training to practice the MIG-29 jet at Russia’s Sokol airbase the following year.
She told that “I chalked up 200 hours to practice and accomplish a commercial license. After that, she graduated with an Aviation degree from Bombay Flying Club(BFC) in 2017.

Ayesha Aziz got more impelled when she got an opportunity to meet two of her role models during her chance to visit NASA where she met John McBride and Sunita Williams in person, her exuberance was in heights after that.

Ms. Aziz’s journey was filled with exigency, but still, she chose this field because it was quite challenging and uncommon. She once told, that I always loved traveling, take challenging experiences, and meet different people, that’s why I chose this field. It is quite spontaneous as there are no fixed timings like normal 9-5 job and even I don’t want to be the part of those ordinary monotonous jobs where I don’t feel satisfied.

There were many obstacles in my path too Ayesha said but it didn’t stop me, my family went through many hassles and difficulties because we don’t belong to an aviation background, we were totally unfamiliar with it. But she broke the glass ceiling and became the first pilot of her family and made not only her parents but the whole country proud.

Ayesha Aziz made her appearance at NGO Elfa International’s Lal Ded Khatoon-e- Kashmir award 2021 on 2nd January where Kashmiri young women achievers are bestowed with great honor in different fields, where she instilled confidence and bravery in other girls to follow the path of their dreams and came into spotlight.
She became the exemplar figure of all the zealous women who surrounded her at the function. Here she said Kashmiri women are performing marvelously and doing great progress. especially they are achieving excellence in education almost everyone is doing Masters or doctorate, now it can’t be said that Kashmir is totally unprivileged and gives no freedom to females.

Ayesha Aziz is really a strong-headed personality who broke the chains of society and attained heights. She is a great inspirer and motivator for all the young girls who strive to do something unusual and extraordinary but lack support from this society.
