The coast guards are responsible for the protection of coastal boundaries and regulating maritime zones in India. Indian coast Guard ranks as 4th largest in the world. Our coast army has 158 ships and 70 aircraft in its inventory.

Indian Coast Guard: History

The Indian Parliament passed Coast Guard Act, 1978 on 1 February 1977. On 19th August 1978, President Morarji Desai officially launched the organization with just seven ships. Indian Coast Guard protects the country from any illegal activity taking place in the coastal boundary of our country.

Indian Coast Guard recently marched Contingent led by Deputy Commandant Rohit Singh on 26 Republic Day 2023.
