Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the Union Budget 2023 presentation at 11 AM on February 1. This will be the last full budget by BJP’s government before the 2024 elections.

The First Budget of Amrit Kaal is finally presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. India grew its economy by 7% in the previous fiscal year. The Indian economy has moved to 5th from 10th position in the world in the last 9 years.

Recently, the economic survey 2023 has projected the Indian GDP to grow by 6-6.8%. The country will now be looking to reduce its dependency on other countries like China. Production Linked Incentive (PLI) was launched focusing on 14 major sectors including telecommunication, renewable energy and product development sector. Nirmal Sitharaman will likely introduce more sectors to the PLI scheme in the Union Budget 2023.

Rs 10 lakh crore Budget will take capex/GDP ratio to 3.3%. This will help to increase the private investments. Capital outlay of Rs 2.40 lakh crore for railways in next financial year.

Personal Income Tax

People with the income of 7 lakh or less won’t have to pay any sort of tax. This value was 5 lakh before the Union Budget 2023.

Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, MoS Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad, MoS Shri Pankaj Chaudhary, and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting the Union Budget 2023-24.
