The Asian Cricket Council announced on Friday that India and Pakistan’s Super 4 match, originally scheduled for Sunday (September 10), will now have a reserve day. With the expectation that inclement weather might prevent the completion of a full match on the originally scheduled day, this decision was prompted by weather forecasts predicting rain on Sunday.
India Vs Pakistan Match Will Have a Reserve Day
A statement from the ACC read, “A reserve day has been incorporated for the Super11 Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match between India and Pakistan scheduled to take place on September 10, 2023, at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.”
In such a case, ticket holders are encouraged to keep their match tickets, which will continue to be valid and can be used on the reserve day.
Rain to play spoilsport again?
Rain ruined the previous match between Ind and Pakistan in Kandy, making it only possible to play one inning before the game was abandoned. Despite having scored 266 runs, India was unable to bowl again due to persistent rain.
In addition, the Ind Vs pak match that is scheduled for Sunday still faces the possibility of rain, with precipitation being predicted to have up to a 90% chance of occurring.
Bumrah Will Return, Eyes On KL Rahul
The Indian management would want the bowlers to get important playing time against a formidable opponent if the weather improved.
