In response to questions about President Mohammed Muijzju’s choice to visit China instead of India after leaving a summit and opting for trips to Turkey, Dunya Maumoon expressed her disapproval. She stated that traditionally, India has been the first foreign destination for Maldivian presidents, and the recent visits to Turkey and China are unusual.

Strong Condemnation of Offensive Comments

Dunya Maumoon strongly condemned the offensive and derogatory remarks made by Maldivian ministers, targeting India and questioning India’s assistance during crises. She asserted that while freedom of expression is important, the recent language used is unacceptable.

“I believe that certain language cannot be forgiven, especially in recent events. We need guidance because they are young and new to such positions,” she stated.
