IFFI 54th Awards 2023: Minister of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) Anurag Thakur has made a big announcement on the occasion of National Cinema Day. Keeping in view the upcoming International Film Festival of India 2023 (IFFI 2023), Anurag has made a big announcement.
Under this announcement, Anurag has put forward the information of giving Satyajit Ray Excellence Lifetime Achievement Awards to Hollywood superstar Michael Douglas.

On the special occasion of National Cinema Day, Anurag Thakur has made the latest tweet on his official Twitter handle. In this tweet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur wrote – “I feel very happy to inform you that during the upcoming 54th International Film Festival Goa, Hollywood veteran Michael Douglas will be given the Satyajit Ray Excellence Lifetime Achievement Awards. Will be awarded with special honor.
Douglas is given a lot of love in our country. Due to this, we are all very eager to warmly welcome Michael, his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones, and his son at IFFI 2023, South Asia’s most prominent film festival.” In this way, Anurag Thakur gave this big information about Michael Douglas. Have shared.
When will IFFI 2023 start?
Like every year, this time too the International Film Festival of India is going to start in a few days. Like always, this time this film festival will continue in Goa from 20th November to 28th November. Apart from Indian cinema, film personalities from Hollywood to other countries will be seen participating in the 54th IFFI.
Let us tell you that during this film festival last year, there was a lot of discussion about Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files. In fact, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid had called ‘The Kashmir Files’ an obscene and propaganda film during the International Film Festival 2022, due to which there was a lot of controversy regarding this matter.

(V)Special Jury Award
Silver Peacock, Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 15,00,000/- given to a film (for any aspect of the film which the jury wishes to award/acknowledge) or an individual (for his/her artistic contribution to a film). The award, if given to a film, will be given to the Director of the film.
(VI) Award for Best Debut Feature Film of a Director
a) Silver Peacock, certificate, and a cash prize of Rs. 10,00,000/- (To be given to a director for his/her best first feature film to recognize and encourage the most promising new directorial talent in world cinema).
b) Out of the entries received for this category of award, up to five non-Indian (foreign) films will be shortlisted by the Preview Committee. The festival holds the right to consider the films that are not shortlisted for this category as entries for the World Panorama Section of the Festivals.
c) The first feature film of a director selected under Indian Panorama is also eligible for this Award. Indian film entry for the Award for the Best Debut Feature Film of a Director will be identified by the Indian Panorama Jury from the selected films for Indian Panorama 2023. A maximum of two such films can be recommended by the Indian Panorama Jury at the time of the final selection of Indian Panorama Films for IFFI 2023.
