In 2009, Madhya Pradesh local fund office found many administrative and financial irregularities in MPPEB. It also includes the unauthorised disposal of application forms. An activist and doctor Anand Rai filed a PIL in the Madhya Pradesh High Court highlighting the recruitment process by Vyapam and malpractice in the examination.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan form an inquiry committee for the Vyapam scam case that presented its report in 2011. MPPEB suspects 145 students during the pre-medical test and 8 were caught for impersonating others. Then in 2013, the case was taken over by the Special Task Force (STF) under the supervision of the High Court, due to the observation of too much delay in the case.

The result came up that Shivraj’s cabinet minister Laxmikant Chouhan, his private secretary Prem Chand Prashad and many other BJP politician were involved in it. In the mid of the probe, 46 people were suspiciously murdered related to the Vyapam scam case. Thereafter, in 2015, Supreme Court handed over the investigation to CBI.

Then Chief Minister Chouhan was also under the radar. The investigation on him lasted two years. Then CBI gave him a clean chit. However, the whistleblower Anand Rai claims that the CBI tampered with the evidence to save Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

1. Shivraj Singh Chouhan showed leadership qualities since he was a kid. At the age of 9, he fought for the rights of agricultural labourers of his village.

2. He had spent most of his time swimming in the Narmada River. He was very much devoted to the river.

3. In 1977, Mama was arrested and imprisoned in Bhopal Jail for the underground movement during an emergency.

4. He was admired by the Krishi Karma award for delivering the highest production of wheat in the year 2011-12.

5. He is an agriculturalist by profession and has won a gold medal in M.A. (Philosophy).

6. He has also won the United Nations Public Service Award for Madhya Pradesh Public service Guarantee Act in 2012.

Shivraj Singh Chauhan was born to a farmer Prem Chandra Chouhan in Jait village of Sehore district. He has leadership skills from the very beginning. His interest in politics made him join RSS in 1972. And after a few years, he started stepping forward by becoming Joint Secretary of ABVP in 1978 and General Secretary ABVP in 1980.

Due to his excellent speech skills, he was appointed as a Joint Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in 1984. Up to 1988, he has been promoted to the President of BJYM. Afterwards, in 1991, he stood in an election from the Bundi constituency and secured a seat in Parliament. He held the position till 2005.

In 2005, he won the election of Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and holding this position till now.
