So, this time, the story will take you 200 years back before the events of GOT and focus on the Targaryen family (family of Daenerys Targaryen). It will stream on HBO Max and Disney+ Hotstar.
Like GOT, this war will also take place for the iron throne. And the most interesting thing is that it is between the Targaryens, the people who have their own personal dragons. So, it’s very obvious you are going to see the army of dragons from the start of the show itself.

House of the Dragon Story

The story of House of the Dragon is based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood. As the prequel of Game of Thrones, it will take you 200 years back, where Targaryens are ruling Westeros.
Visheys Targaryen I is the one who is sitting on the iron throne, who is a peace lover. But the story turns when he has to decide his heir to the throne. There are two options in front of the king.
The first is Daemon Targaryen, who is a great warrior and the brother of the king. And the second one is princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, who is a daughter of the king and a rightful heir to the throne.
In the end, we can say House of the Dragon shows you a civil war in the Targaryen family and how they fall.

1. Viserys Targaryen I

Viserys Targaryen I is going to be one of the lead characters in the show, at least for the first season. After all, he is the king of Westeros and is going to take some decisions that will start the civil war between Targaryens.

As per the trailer, Daemon Targaryen is the main character of the show. He is the younger brother of the Viserys Targaryen I who is totally opposite from him. He is very short-tempered, rebellious and ambitious.
Daemon is a little dark character who wants to claim the iron throne in anyhow conditions. Along with it, he is a great warrior and possesses a skilled fighter dragon named Caraxes.

3. Rhaenyra Targaryen

On the other hand, Rhaenyra Targaryen is another competent for the iron throne. She is the daughter of the king and a rightful heir. But the problem is that some people in Westeros didn’t want a woman to sit on the iron throne.
