Honda To Launch A New Rival Of Creta; Bookings Open

Honda

Honda has plans to launch a new SUV in India in a little while, which is anticipated to be a rival of the Hyundai Creta.

Although an official announcement from Honda is not been made yet, some Honda dealerships have initiated pre-bookings for the future mid-size SUV.

It has been reported that the model is so far being tested and has been seen on the roads in India. It is also anticipated that the car is an Indonesian WR-V, but it may get a new name in India to characterize it from its ex-model.

The brand-new SUV is anticipated to be revealed officially in April 2023 and will start delivering the model to clients at the time of Diwali.

The brand-new SUV is supported by a 121PS 1.5 litre petrol engine by the Honda City and it will be packed with a CVT as standard. The interior will be identical to the Amaze with an all-black theme and a seven-inch touchscreen.

In the markets of Indonesia, the brand-new SUV is available in three models. In India, we are not sure about the variants to come to the market. A possibility says that the car will have the petrol-hybrid motor from the Honda City hybrid.

This will make it the third hybrid compact SUV in India, following the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota HyRyder, both of which are fundamentally the same vehicle.

If we talk about the looks, the Indonesian Honda WR-V seems exactly like a compact SUV instead of a more butch Honda Jazz, which the past generation WR-V was.

The new WR-V is stylish having its honeycomb mesh grille and chrome bodies in the front. It also includes LED headlamps and turn indicators. The front bumper is sharp and has a big air dam and LED fog lamps.

The sides of the SUV contain flared wheel arches and 17-inch alloy wheels. It has six color options having a red and black dual-tone variant.

If we look at the rear of the SUV, it breaks LED tail lamps and a rugged-looking bumper. The recent spy shots have revealed that the SUV contains an upright bonnet, horizontal LED DRLs, a wide grille, sleek LED headlights, door-mounted ORVMs, and flared wheel arches.

If this future SUV is the Indonesian WR-V, then it will be somehow shorter than its main opponents. The Honda WR-V in Indonesia is 4060 mm long, 1780 mm wide, and 1608 mm tall.
