Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday declared that the government had raised the appropriation sum for Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana recipients from ₹200 to ₹300 per LPG chamber.
Ujjwala recipients right now pay ₹703 per 14.2-kg chamber as against the market cost of ₹903. After the choice of the Association Bureau, they will presently pay ₹603.
Subsidy Amount Of Ujjwala Beneficiaries Increased To Rs.100
Briefing the media after a meeting of the union cabinet, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that the subsidy amount on LPG cylinders for the Ujjwala beneficiaries has been increased by ₹100.
“During the past nine years, a lot of development work has been done for the welfare of women and the poor. Last month, on the eve of Rakshabandhan, when the prices of domestic LPG were reduced by ₹200, it reached about ₹900. However, for the Ujjwala beneficiaries, it was ₹700,” he said.
Government Reduced Price Of LPG Cylinder In August
The government had in August discounted the cost of 14.2 kilogram LPG cooking gas chamber by ₹200. Minister of Petrol and Flammable Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri had said that the public authority would bear the expense of the guaranteed ₹200 cost decline on family cooking gas chambers, freeing the oil advertising organizations from the approaching deficiency of ₹7,500 crore.
Decision Brought Down the Cost Of Cylinder Rs. 1,103 To Rs.903
In Delhi for example, the choice cut down the expense of a 14.2 kg chamber from the current ₹1,103 per chamber to ₹903.
The Association Bureau had last month endorsed the augmentation of PMUY for the arrival of 75 lakh LPG associations north of a long time from monetary year 2023-24 to 2025-26. The 75 lakh extra Ujjwala associations will take the complete number of PMUY recipients to 10.35 crore.
