Google has finally launched its new Fold phone Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold in the Indian market. In terms of price, it is the most expensive foldable smartphone in India. Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the company’s second foldable smartphone. The company has launched this smartphone in the Made by Google event 2024.

Design of Pixel 9 Pro Fold
- Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is built on an aluminum alloy body which the company has called aerospace-grade.
- The phone uses multi-alloy steel in the metal frame and hinge.

- Pixel 9 Pro Fold is IPX8 rated which makes it water resistant. This will protect it only from water splashes.

The screen of Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Main Display – The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has an 8-inch flex display with 2076 x 2152 pixel resolution. This is an LTPO OLED screen which has a 120Hz refresh rate, 373PPI and 2700nits peak brightness. The phone screen is protected with Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Cover Display – This Google foldable phone has a 6.3-inch cover screen which is built on a 20:9 aspect ratio and supports 1080 x 2424 pixel resolution. It is on an OLED panel display which has 120Hz refresh rate, 422PPI and 2700nits peak brightness. This screen also has the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Processor and RAM
Google’s latest Tensor G4 chipset has also been given in the Pixel 9 Pro Fold smartphone. Along with this, the phone has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
Battery of Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Battery – Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold phone has been launched in the market equipped with 4,650mAh battery. The company claims that after a full charge, it can last more than 24 hours in average use. At the same time, when Extreme Battery Saver mode is turned on, it has the ability to give 3 days of backup.
Charging – It has 45W Fast Charging and Qi Wireless Charging technology to charge the phone faster. It is worth noting here that Google is not providing a charging adapter with this phone. You will have to spend money separately for this.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold Camera
Back Camera – This Pixel foldable phone supports triple rear camera. It has a 48MP Quad PD wide camera with f/1.7 aperture, a 10.5MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and 127° fov, and a 10.8MP telephoto sensor with f/3.1 aperture.
The rear camera of Pixel 9 Pro Fold works on the capability of 5x optical zoom to 20x Super Res Zoom. It also includes features like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).
Front Camera – The Pixel 9 Pro Fold phone has two selfie cameras. One sensor is installed on the inside screen of the phone and one on the outside display. That is, whether this phone is folded or unfolded, selfies can be taken, video calling can be done and reels can be made in both conditions.
Connectivity Features
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold phone has 3 microphones. Along with features like stereo speakers and Google Cast, options like NFC, dual antenna Bluetooth 5.3 and 6GHz Wi-Fi 7 are also available.
Dual PD 10 Megapixel front camera has been given on both the displays of the phone. It works on F/2.2 aperture and supports 87° ultrawide FOV. 60FPS 4K video recording can be done with both these sensors.
This phone has been launched with Android 14. The company will offer it updates for 7 years. It will get Pixel exclusive Google AI features, which will not be given in any other non-Pixel phone. Along with this, the company is offering one year Google One AI premium plan.
What is the price in India?
The company has launched Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold in just one configuration. This phone comes in 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. The price of this variant is Rs 1,72,999. This smartphone will be available in India in two color options – Obsidian and Porcelain. This handset will go on sale on August 22. You will be able to buy it from Flipkart as well as Croma and Reliance Digital.
