Safety Features of Citroen Basalt
You get many safety features as standard in Basalt. This car has six airbags, safety features like Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchors and three-point seat belts for all passengers. On the basis of these safety features and high-powered steel framework, the SUV managed to achieve 4 star safety rating in the crash test.
Crash Test Process
- For the test, 4 to 5 human-suchlike dummies are seated in the car. There is a child dummy on the art seat, which is fixed to the child ISOFIX anchor seat.2. The vehicle is collided with an offset deformable hedge (hard object) at a fixed speed to see how important damage is caused to the vehicle and the dummy. This is done in three ways.
- In the frontal affect test, the car is hit with a obstruction at a speed of 64 Kmph.
- In the side affect test, the vehicle is hit with a boundary at a speed of 50 Kmph.
- In the pole side impact test, the car will be seen hitting a pole at a fixed speed. If the car achieves 3 star rating in the first two tests, the third test is conducted.
- In the test, it is seen how important damage was done to the dummy after the impact, whether the airbags and safety features worked or not. Rating is given on the basis of all these.
