On Monday recent announcement by the Chinese govt. that it’ll begin to reopen its borders on January 8 and end its three years strict quarantine rules upon arrival for its people.

China also dismantles its zero covid policy for travelers.

This news has shaken up the world tourism departments and they are preparing for the massive outbound tourists from China.

Many countries are now preparing to tackle the upcoming tourist traffic from China. Some may impose temporary bans on Chinese tourists due to covid concerns.

China never discloses its whole situation with Covid to the world, which is an actual concern for many countries.

Many Countries Will Take Strict Measures against Chinese Tourists

Chinese govt. lifts travel ban

After the announcement by the Chinese govt. that it’ll be lifting the traveling bans, many countries are worried about the safety of their own people.

The USA is planning to put new restrictions on travelers from China as China shows a lack of transparency on their covid-19 conditions.

Japan also imposes restrictions and tourists from China must show a negative covid test upon arrival and quarantine for seven days. It also limits flights from China, Hong Kong, and Macao.

India and Malaysia will also apply strict covid test rules on Chinese people.

Neysun Mahboubi, a researcher at the University of Pennsylvania said that other countries were bound to be cautious in travelers from China, given its lack of transparency about the status of the pandemic.

But any restrictions on Chinese travelers should be temporary and tied directly to scientific factors, including the transparency of public health information from China.

Many countries are facing the threat of covid wave, in the meantime decision by China will definitely push the tourist department all over the world to apply some strict measures on Chinese Tourists.
