A privacy-focused online browser and search engine company called Brave has unveiled new AI-driven features. The Summarizer is one of these features. It provides simple and relevant answers to user inquiries at the top of search result pages.

According to Brave, Development of Summarizer tool the company has not used ChatGPT or its backend technologies in the tool. It was created entirely by their own search team. 3 different large language models (LLMs), each trained for a different task, are used by the Summarizer. Importantly, it is different from Bing because it does not offer a chat experience.

This search engine stands out since it offers a variety of services in addition to its AI-powered search function.

One of the early companies of AI-powered search was Perplexity, which did so in December 2020. Its method stands out for its clarity because it doesn’t provide a list of web links that the user must scroll through while conducting a search.

Instead, the only result is a summary produced by AI using sources from around the web and with the relevant citations.

There is no requirement for a Perplexity account, as the search engine does not provide that option, and you are not required to sign in to search on Perplexity. A user-friendly interface is available on Perplexity.ai to help you start your search.

NeevaAI

Neeva, a search engine with a focus on privacy and no adverts, was launched in the US in 2021. It recently unveiled its AI-driven capabilities on a global scale.

Similar to Brave, after a user enters a query, its AI technology displays distilled results from numerous sources at the top of the search page.

Like Brave, Neeva does not currently have a chat feature. Neeva also offers a specialized browser that is available for both iOS and Android users to download.
