Akshay Kumar’s appealed youth to watch ‘Kesari’ inspired by Battle of Saragarhi

Before the release of Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Kesari’ movie, the actor urged the Indian youth to watch the film as the movie is based on a topic that has taken from the history books and needs to be celebrated.

On speaking about the story of his upcoming film, based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi, Akshay Kumar at a promotional event on Friday addressed saying that people in India are not aware of the legendary battle and children need to watch this film.

‘Kesari’, which also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead role, where an army of 21 Sikhs battles against 10,000 Afghans. Havildar Ishar Singh is the character which will be played by Akshay Kumar.

In comparison to the concept of his film to a classic Hollywood film titled ‘300’, the actor said, “We all know about the film 300 where 300 men fought against 80,000 people. That is a fictitious story. But this is a real story. I want parents to show this film to their children.”

When the actor was asked about the release of the film, that the film was intentionally placed around the upcoming election day? The actor responded that he had announced this film about one year back, long before the election dates were not even scheduled.

“I had announced this film one year back and the elections dates were announced much later. I made the announcement first.”

Anurag Singh is the director of the film and the film is all set to release on March 21, giving fans a perfect Holi treat.

On the work front, other than ‘Kesari’, Akshay will also be seen in ‘Good News’ and ‘Mission Mangal’, while, Parineeti’s upcoming movies are ‘Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar’ and ‘Jabariya Jodi’.
