The Chairman of Tata Sons Chandrasekaran has said that Tata has signed a letter of intent to acquire 250 Airbus aircraft. As per the deal, the company will buy 250 Airbus planes including 40 A350 wide-body and 210 A320 neo-narrow-body planes.

Air India- Airbus Deal: Tata’s Air India has announced that they have signed a massive deal with Airbus to attain 250 passenger aircraft. The acquired aircraft will include:

  • 140 x A320
  • 70 x A321
  • 40 x A350

Air India- Airbus Deal: Airbus Chief Executive, Guillaume Faury conducted a meeting via video conference with PM Modi during which he said: “It’s a historic moment for Airbus to help script Air India’s revival.”

Air India- Airbus Deal: The A350-900 and the A350-1000, which has a longer fuselage, are the two models of the A350 family. According to Airbus, A350s can carry up to 480 passengers in a single-class layout and 300 to 410 passengers in a conventional three-class configuration on any sector, from short-haul to ultra-long-haul itineraries up to 17,000 km.

The A320 and A220 families of aircraft are examples of Airbus’s narrow-body models. The A320 family is already used by many airlines in India.

The new deal between Air India and Airbus will support the Indian aircraft industry to a great extent. This will lead in the growth of the company and will expand the services of Air India extensively.
