After 15 years of togetherness, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have parted their ways. In a joint statement, the couple announced their separation saying that they are ready to begin the new chapter of their lives.

However, they won’t be in any kind of relationship other than being parents of their 9 years-old son Azad Rao Khan.

In addition to this, the couple also said that both will maintain only a professional relationship and will work together in the film industry. Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao also expressed gratitude to their families and friends saying it would not have been possible without their support and understanding.

The couple met during the shoots of Lagaan in which Kiran worked as an assistant director. They tied the knot in December 2005 and were blessed with a baby boy in 2011.
